Born in the Bronx, and raised in the Washington, DC area, Colen (Cole) Wiley is an award-winning writer and filmmaker currently living in Harlem, USA. Coming of age in the midst of the modern American metropolis of the nation’s capital, urban storytelling became an integral part of his life at an early age. Anchored by an upbringing that was heavily influenced by the black intellectual movements of the 20th century, he has had a professional career that has included everything from working at NASA, to flipping burgers, to teaching youth as a gang avoidance counselor, to waiting tables, to graduating from Harvard Law School, to mopping floors. With these varied life experiences, Cole has consequently developed a breadth of perspective and an expansive vision to inspire his work. He has had writings which have been published and recognized by several outlets (ESPN, Sports Illustrated, SLAM Magazine, et. al) and has directed/produced films that have screened at dozens of international film festivals.
His most recent work, the feature film screenplay, AFTER THE STORM, has won the 2011 Spike Lee Production Fund Award, the 2011 Next 15 Minutes Screenplay Competition (sponsored by Final Draft), and the 2011 Urbanworld Screenplay Competition (sponsored by BET and HBO).
Mollye Asher has quickly become known for producing projects marked by strong stories with distinctive voices and unique perspectives. Her projects have been awarded the Wasserman/King Award, the Warner Brothers Grant and the Fotokem Filmmaker Grant. Most recently, she produced the feature film, Faith, Love and Whiskey (currently in post production), and is co-producer for Kim Spurlock’s feature debut, Kin. During her studies at the NYU Graduate Film Program, she was selected as a recipient of the Bernie Brillstein Scholarship for Excellence in Producing.
Along with her work as a producer, Mollye is also an award-winning director. Her Adidas spec commercial was short listed for the 2010 AICP Awards, was a 2010 NY Student ADDY Award winner and recently won Best Commercial at the 2011 BeFilm Underground Film Festival and the 2011 Burbank International Film Festival.
A native of Southern California, Christian McGuigan has been making movies for the better part of a decade. With a degree in English Literature from the University of Dallas and a JD from the Chapman University School of Law’s prestigious Entertainment Law program, Christian’s ties to the entertainment business run deep. From acting along side Chris Pine in 2005′s Confession, to optioning his own scripts in Hollywood, to handling business and legal affairs on numerous feature films, he finally decided to make to make the natural transition to producing with the award-winning feature film, Below the Beltway. Most recently, Christian produced the highly-anticipated short film, Rez, directed by Dominique DeLeon, another winner of the 2011 NYU Spike Lee Production Fund Award.
